July 1 update

Well, after a very busy month of May and missing lasts months blog I figured I should get on the ball with June's update!

May was very busy with school activities winding down and of course... the end of school. Ehren and I have been training a lot more in the running and biking department and I did the Bolder Boulder in May...not completely satisfied with my time, but the run was great as was the weather. Hockey has finished which gives us a few more "free" evenings so we've been spending a lot more time outside with the kids riding bikes, etc.

May was basically playing catch up with the kids. They all finished soccer, gym and swimming and the girls had one final violin recital. June was the start of a great summer. We spent a lot of the month biking with the kids, going to the parks, swimming and a lot of water time.

June brought us our first set of triathlons. The Longmont kids tri was the day before the Sprint tri. The girls took part in this triathlon and had a blast. Jaelynn was one of the youngest in the group and did well! I did the Longmont tri this year as well and Ehren decided to take the morning off and come "cheer" with the kids. :-) Ehren and I also did the Boulder sprint triathlon mid June. It was a lot of fun and was on Father's Day this year...so it was a nice father's day treat for Ehren! We had perfect weather and we now wait for the next one in July!

Later in the month the Johnson family from San Diego arrived. We always have a nice time with them and we even had a nice dinner out..."adults only" one night at Sugarbeet. We took in Cars 2 in 3D and went to the Longmont airshow. It was a hot day but the kids enjoyed their time at the airport. We drove up to Estes Park one morning and visited the Stanley Hotel of course, and then took the kids to the Fun Park for some mini golf and go cars. It was a great day. :-)

Now that we've said Happy Canada Day to everyone we will celebrate the 4th with several friends on monday. We also only have 10 days til we head off on our road trip to Canada. The plan is to leave the afternoon of our Triathlon and get a bit of a drive in that night. Everyone's excited and we look forward to seeing family and friends!
