OK, now this is something that you don't have to be a geek find cool.... automatic door.
I find quite a few neat things online and I think I'll start posting some of them up here. I think this is a good start!

I'm already behind
Well, I only started my blog in August and already I'm being "out-blogged". Yes, once again Reid has surpassed my abilities, much to my applause!
The only thing I can think to talk about right now is the Colorado weather. It is beautiful here!! Yes, we had a cool, gusty day on Saturday, but this week will be warm again. And with the trees changing colours and snow in the mountains, the views are gorgeous! I really need to break out the camera for a few nature pics....

I feel great
Since hockey ended for the summer a couple weeks ago and Noah (weekend riding partner) has been in Europe, I really haven't been getting much exercise lately. And I haven't been out for a run since sometime in June... I know we were still living with Deana & Jay. Well, tonight I made a break for it!
I started out thinking I'd just do a short loop around the community, but when it didn't feel too bad I thought I'd just let it go and see how far I'd get. Well, here it is (link). My knees and quads were hurting the last mile or so, but otherwise I feel GREAT!!! (note 4 miles = 6.4 km & I'm not sure when I feel like pushing myself that far again, hahaha)

it's hard to heal
I took an accidental hit from one of my own players in our last summer hockey game, 8 days ago. My head hurt more then my shoulder until after the game. By the next day I could barely pick up my kids.
I've played through the pain for 36 holes of golf in the past week - I don't think it's anything bad, just bruised and sore. It just sucks to realize that I'm past the point where I can easily bounce back from minor incidents, but it is feeling better.
Should have a few days off from golf again now, so we'll see how it is next week.

choose your words carefully
About 1 week ago our 3.5 yr old daughter was starting to get a bit too whiny for our liking. It was a weekday, so I told her that when I was home on the weekend we were going to "cut out the whining".
Well, you should have seen the look of terror on her face. "Please, don't cut it out! I don't want to be cut!".
It is really funny to think about all the little sayings and nuances we have and how they would be interpreted by a newcomer to the language.

September 2006
Well, it's been a busy month. We took off to High River for a reunion on the Sterling side on the 3rd and were there for 10 days. It was a nice time and we got to see a lot of family that we hadn't seen in years. Also got to meet a few members of the family that we'd never met before! Ehren was only up there for a few days but the Janelle and the girls stayed up longer. While we were there we also threw a baby shower for Lana who's expecting in Oct.!
Life's been busy since we got home. We're still in the progress of filling the house, preparing to finish the backyard, and Emily's started preschool! Sept. brings a lot more extra-curricular such as music, swimming, gymnastics, etc. We'll update you on all that when the time comes.
So far Ehren's been playing more golf than ever with being involved in a golf league with some guys from work. He's also still biking and playing hockey. Janelle is playing hockey and getting out for the odd run. More RMCC work will come for her in Sept. This month...we're also expecting a visit from Oma and Opa sometime!
